So, I finally know how much rectifiying this whole iPod fiasco is going to cost me.
$144.00 plus shipping.
Gross huh.

I'm very sad. Can you tell?
My iPod is broken.
(Sniff.)
I had to look at this depressing little iCon flashing on the screen.
I must admit, I shed a few tears.
How did this come about, you are asking? Well...it was an accident you see. Stupid, really.
You know those silver magnets that you throw in the air and they stick together? Well, ok that's not really a very good description. Bear with me.
Sophie was taking a bath and I needed something to do until she was ready to actually get clean. I was playing with said magnets. They're cheap entertainment. I went to lay down on Dad's bed and was going to finish watching March of the Penguins.
I had the magnets in my hand as I reached into my pocket to grab my iPod.
Well, you know how magnets are. They're very clingy.
It was only for 3 or 4 seconds, but the damage had been done.
Suddenly the emperor penguin and his egg were gone and all that was left was the sad little iPod and the sound of whatever's inside an iPod grinding away. It was a disturbing sound.
So now my task is to fix it. I'm not sure what or where or when exactly. I'm trying not to worry about it and I'm especially trying not to think about how much it's going to cost me. However, money is no object. My pod is like my child. I didn't realize how much I use it until I can't anymore.
Oh well. What's done is done. I'll get it fixed, but I will have to be tuneless in the meantime.

Summer is nearly upon me. Sort of... Almost...
Ok, technically spring just barely started, but still. It's a beautifully, gorgeous day outside, and although I'm cooped up at a desk today, I'm determined not to complain about it.
I'm already having wonderful daydreams about waterskiing...sunshining...flipflops and swimming suits...red rocks and blue-green water...mmmm...
Oh sorry. I dozed off for a second.
Just the fact that I don't have to wear a coat anymore is cause for a party. Just a light jacket in the evenings? I can totally handle that.

I own a car.
I could never say that until yesterday. I'll say it again, just cause I can. I own a car. All by myself.
Granted it's not quite as fun as Lianne's Lexus or Aubrey's Mazda 6, but hey.
It runs and it's mine.
This is not a picture of my car. My car is sitting in front of my house and I would take a picture of it, but it's dark outside. This looks just like my car. Same strange, purple-y color and everything. But my car doesn't have a big blue sign that says 1997 on it.
My bank now owns my soul, but only for a year. Maybe less than a year if I can pay it off quicker.
This whole car owning/buying business is stressful stuff. Maybe not to anyone else but it has been for me. Loans and titles and bill of sales and registrations...
I think ownership should be determined by who has the key. If someone hands over the key, it's yours. Period. End of transaction.

So, I had a really awesome weekend. Overall I'm feeling good. Peaceful is probably a good way to put it. That doesn't happen often for me. I feel as if I've shed another layer from my "onion of issues." That's always a good thing.
Aside from the fact that my voice is totally gone (I couln't speak at ALL), everything is good today. I had to miss work yesterday due to my vocal infirmities, but I made it alright today. I'm struggling to keep from squeaking on the radio and people have been making fun of me all day. I had some guy from an alarm company tell me that it should clear up in about 10 days. I was a little perplexed, but I appreciated his concern.
I took 9 hours of work off this weekend, but I still feel like I've been slaving away for days and days. I'm really glad to have some days off. I need to catch up on my sleep, my Flickr project, and my sanity.
I have Rascal Flatts to look forward to on Friday though. That should keep me going.
